On November the 29th, our Appellation celebrated its 80th birthday during a coulourful evening. The wine-growers welcomed the some 250 guests with a very special biscuits harvest. Later, everybody shared a joyful and friendly diner that was signed by « Les Toqués d’Ardèche ». It was the perfect occasion to discover the many different facets of our Appellation, deeply rooted in life and open-minded. In turn classical or bohemian, always warm, Cornas AOC was revealed with each of the proposed dishes as well as by unveiling its new punchline "Haut le Rhône, Oh le Vin! ". Next morning, about forty professionals, sommeliers or oenologists, had the opportunity to taste the 2008 Cornas wines the winemakers had especially selected for them. They then had a pleasant moment sharing a wine-grower snack . Afterwards, they enjoyed a walk around the vineyard and learnt all about its technical and historical specificities. That was also the opportunity to hear from an exciting scientific project of census of the Appellation biodiversity, in partnernship with the University of Montpellier. The 62nd Wine Market opened in the evening, in the presence of many local actors, officials, business and professional leaders, and other wine professionals. Eventually, on Saturday the 1st of december, anybody could come to the torchlight walk organised by the Town Hall of Cornas, before warming up during the nice aperitif that was offered on the public school playground. That was a great way to celebrate with authenticity and dynamism the entry of the Appellation in its ninth decade!
